Mark Twain School and Academy uses and interdisciplinary approach to learning through communication and technology. Students learn to read using Open Court, a research-based reading program. This program instruction includes: oral reading, phonemic awareness, spelling, writing, comprehensive skills and strategies for Kindergarten through 6th grade. Middle school students use “Spotlight on Literature and Reading Mastery” and students are accessed every week.
