Posted September 30, 2011

Dr. Benjamin Carson, director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, returned to Detroit for a special dedication ceremony for the brand new Dr. Benjamin Carson High School for Science and Medicine, named in his honor. As part of the event, he met with students to talk about careers in medicine and science. “When I grew up in Detroit, there wasn’t a high school like this for those interested in healthcare careers,” said Dr. Carson. “I am so honored to have a school in my name focused on science and medicine that is designed to bring the best out in students who want to succeed.”
