In accordance with the Agreement between DAEOE and the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Detroit, Article X, Vacant Positions, the following vacancy is announced:

Candidate must possess and provide evidence of one of the following:
High School diploma or GED certificate, and fifteen (15) years of full-time work experience in an educational setting. Or
Candidate must possess and provide evidence of a transcript confirming at least 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution, and eight (8) years of experience in an educational and business setting.

Must have minimum of ten (10) years of administrative support experience. Strengths must include trouble shooting and problem solving, excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; must be organized, work well alone or as part of a team; proficient in Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and PeopleSoft 8.
Must have experience in importing and exporting data to and from Excel spreadsheet, maintaining and balancing a budget.
Regular Attendance is critical; must have an exemplary attendance record.
Must be able to verify whether U.S. citizen, resident alien, or otherwise authorized to accept employment in the U.S.
Must be physically able to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined with or without accommodations.
Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer or Designee:
�Responsible for keeping abreast of all DPS Accounting policies and procedures especially in the area of concentration in order to provide assistance for external and internal customers.
Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements.
� Process payments using the PeopleSoft Accounts Payable system.
� Input data on the PeopleSoft system utilizing the cash receipts and general ledger modules.
� Work with vendors in helping resolve vendor issues prior to involving management.
� Prepare excel spreadsheets for supervisor on a variety of accounting projects.
� Review and monitor work assignments to assure accuracy and thoroughness.
� Maintain accurate and appropriate records and files relative to the effective operation of the office.
� Coordinate office services such as purchasing, payroll, record control, and other office activities.
� Prepare memoranda, answer telephones, route calls appropriately, and operate modern office equipment.
� Communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
� Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the office of the Chief Financial Officer.
