In accordance with the Agreement between the Organization of School Administrators and Supervisors (O.S.A.S.) and the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Detroit, the following vacancy is announced.

Develops and deliver business-focused policies, procedures, and processes. Leads change in key human resource practices. Create curriculum focused training and development programs. Leads and coaches assigned professional and support staff. Outstanding verbal, written, multi-tasking and presentation skills. Ability to create momentum and foster organizational change
Bachelors degree in training and development, business administration, human resources, or related field. MBA or other graduate degree and experience preferred.
Outstanding depth and breadth of the human resources profession: ability to articulate broadly and deeply about areas of human resources at a level consistent with five � seven years� progressively responsible work experience. Specific areas include:
� Create HR related curriculum base programs
� Establish management & development processes
� Perform training and development workshops
� Convey to end user; associate HR practices to District goals
* Leadership/management/teamwork: Expert knowledge of leadership, management, and teamwork principles, and demonstrated ability to effectively apply principles to support and advance organizational objectives. Proven ability to convey, in a training environment, the appropriate procedure for delivering products and services to end user. Demonstrate capability to form and effectively facilitate organizational-wide goals. Demonstrate ability to introduce and lead large-scale change through assigned work groups and the organization as a whole.
Demonstrate ability to assist customers with identifying required team competencies, implementing effective performance management processes, and motivating teams to exhibit desired behaviors to achieve defined goals.
Demonstrates a �coaching� rather than �rule and control� management style.
* Business orientation: Demonstrates deep understanding of business needs and customer satisfaction standards. Demonstrates ability to �think ahead� to anticipate needs of team and customers s/he is supporting.
Consistently exercises appropriate judgment and discretion in all job functions, even when clearly-defined processes may not be in place. Identifies viable courses of action first, and reviews recommendations (as appropriate) with next-level manager.
* Process development, implementation, and improvement; project management: Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully implement sound, repeatable business/human resources processes. Can appropriately identify core business issues, viable business-oriented solutions, and necessary resources. Ability to effectively defined processes.
Demonstrated ability to structure, implement, and manage to successful completion complex business projects.
* Communication: Must have highly effective verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, candidates, and other individuals external to Detroit Public Schools. Demonstrated ability to �sell� ideas and concepts and gain buy in of targeted audiences.
* Technology: Working knowledge of current technology (i.e., HRIS, standard business word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software). Can articulate working knowledge of standard business systems and software.
* Customer satisfaction orientation: Demonstrate ability to communicate and work effectively with employees at all levels. Can function as a team leader and team member as situation requires.
Regular Attendance is critical; must have an exemplary attendance record.

Under the direction of the Chief of Human Resources, the Program Supervisor of Training and Development will:
Develop key strategies and analysis around current programs and create new ones to support district goals.
Create training and development programs and deliver training material in a group setting via: webinar, video conference or seminar/workshop setting.
Designs and generates reports; analyzing the data to ensure improvement meets departmental needs and requirements.
Facilitates and leads large-scale organizational projects and multidisciplinary teams.
Train staff to maximize performance and potential.
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, statutes and regulations.
Perform additional related job functions.
