In accordance with the Agreement between DAEOE and the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Detroit, Article X, Vacant Positions, the following vacancy is announced:

Qualifications

Description:

Supplier Relationship Lean Support Specialist will report to the Executive Director of Supplier Relationship and Inventory Management. This role will provide lean and innovative support for supplier relationship activities including supplier information management. Provide timely, accurate, and cost effective completion of tasks to ensure that departmental goals and objectives are achieved in support of operational business objectives.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED Certificate Required. Bachelors degree preferred. Applicants must attached proof of HS diploma or GED certificate to on-line application.

Experience:

5 years of relevant administrative experience required required; expertise in using: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and PeopleSoft. Access skills are desirable.

Working knowledge of procurement, supply chain, supplier relations, problem solving and continuous improvement ; previous experience working with corporate partners is preferred; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels internally and externally with key stakeholders; extensive experience of working directly with customers, technical experts, professional staff as well as experience working with suppliers.

Attendance:

Regular Attendance is critical; must have an exemplary attendance record.

Citizenship:

Must be able to verify whether U.S. citizen, resident alien, or otherwise authorized to accept employment in the U.S.

Physical Condition:

Must be physically able to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined with or without accommodations.


Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Executive Director of Supplier Relationship and Inventory Management:

Essential Functions:

1.Assist in the identification of cost savings opportunities
2.Assist team members in the resolution of complex problems or in the development of acceptable alternatives.
3.Prepare special reports, charts, and analysis as requested.
4.Serve as the P&L lead person for supplier information as well as providing current information to users.
5.Develop and implement a robust process to ensure new suppliers are properly set up in the PeopleSoft system and qualified to do business with Detroit Public Schools per policy guidelines and all applicable laws and regulations.
6.Organize and develop a system approach for receiving and tracking bid packages from suppliers
7.Document process and procedures for supplier information management
8.Support Chief Procurement and Logistics Officers administrator as required and as buddy.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
