The Director Strategic Sourcing Human Resources Medical Legal Utilities Risk Management and Real Estate will lead for development and execution of category strategies for Human Resources, Legal, Utilities, Risk Management and Real Estate categories including leading Strategic Category Teams (SCT's) for assigned categories, identifying and driving cost savings opportunities that achieve optimal value, negotiations and contract execution with the District's supply base by driving the strategic sourcing process.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or related field required. MBA or certification strongly preferred.
A minimum of 7 - 10 years of relevant experience.
High level of strategic sourcing experience and/or specific category management in HR, Benefits, Legal, Risk Management, Utilities and/or Real Estate.
Demonstrated ability in strategic sourcing principles and methodologies including demand management, supplier relationship management, essentials of negotiation and situation assessment.
Demonstrated excellence in working with multiple internal customers and driving customer satisfaction and innovation. A proven track record of successful project management and implementation.
Exceptional communication skills, follow-up skills and ability to collaborate and align with diverse, cross functional matrix teams.
Regular Attendance is critical; must have an exemplary attendance record.
Must be able to verify whether U.S. citizen, resident alien, or otherwise authorized to accept employment in the U.S.
Must be physically able to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined with or without accommodations.
Under the direction of the Executive Director the Director - Strategic Sourcing Human Resource/Benefits/Legal/Utilities/Risk Management and Real Estate will:
Champion the strategic sourcing process.
Lead operationally for assigned categories.
Lead Strategic Category Teams for assigned categories.
Lead Category Management including the development of Category Business Plans, Category Strategies with defined plans for cost savings, short, medium and long term sourcing plans.
Establish and maintain a quality base of suppliers whose business strategies and practices align and support the organization�s strategic sourcing objectives.
Perpetual review of the quality system to ensure its effectiveness.
Manage effective internal controls to ensure alignment with audit guidelines, federal and state laws and/or regulations.
Manage and facilitate process improvement by driving the strategic sourcing process and methodology.
Develop and train direct reports.
Provide general administration and logistics.
