DC Prep and Golightly Career and Tech are recognized for caring about energy and the environment!

Because of the hard work of students, teachers and parents, Golightly Career and Technical Center and Detroit Collegiate Prep Academy have received a 2012 Michigan Green School designation by completing at least 10 energy saving and environmental tasks.

Golightly Career and Technical Center’s Mass Media Program Named “2012 Station/Program of the Year!”

The Mass Media Communications Program at Golightly Career and Technical Center has been named the “2012 High School Radio Station/Program of the Year” by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation (MABF). Golightly’s Mass Media Program became eligible for the title when students earned 11 awards in the 2012 Michigan High School and College Broadcast Awards Competition in various radio categories. Golightly was also recognized with the same honor in 2011 and 2000. The MABF also selected Mass Media student Alaina Davis for a $750 High School Broadcast Scholarship.
