Congratulations Cass Lady Technicians

Congratulations to Coach Ramona Cox and the Cass Lady Technicians who captured the DPSL volleyball title by defeating the Lady Phoenix of Renaissance in front of a capacity crowd by a score of 3 sets to 0. In the consolation match, the Lady Pioneers of Detroit Edison PSA defeated the Lady Crusaders of King to determine the third and fourth placed finishing varsity teams in the DPSL for 2017. In between matches, the coaches’ All-City Volleyball Team was honored in a medals presentation ceremony. Great job to all our teams and thank you to all coaches, officials, trainers and parents for another successful season!

Lady Crusaders crowned DPSL 2016 Girls Swim Champions

2016 Girls Swim Champions posing with trophiesCongratulations are in order. The Lady Crusaders were crowned DPSL 2016 Girls Swim Champions this evening at Western International High School. Coach Gary Peterson’s team set a record today by placing first in all eleven events, including eight individual events and three relays. Job well done and we are proud of your accomplishments. Congratulations Elementary-Middle School Track and Baseball Championship Winners!

Detroit Public Schools Middle School Track Championship was held Saturday, June 4 at Renaissance High School. Middle school teams from across the district took the track, but Bunche Preparatory Academy took home the back-to-back championship title for boys and girls! Congratulations athletes and special shout out to Coach Plonka who does a wonderful job at getting his Bunche athletes out to participate! Participating boys teams included: Bunche Preparatory Academy J.E. Clark Preparatory Academy Thirkell Elementary-Middle John R. King Academic and Performing Arts Academy Ludington Magnet Middle School Participating girls teams included: Bunche Preparatory Academy Mackenzie Elementary-Middle School John R. King Academic and Performing Arts Academy Thirkell Elementary-Middle J.E. Clark Preparatory Academy Burton International Academy Ludington Magnet-Middle School Also held at Renaissance was the Elementary-Middle School Baseball Championship games! Burton beat Schulze

Congratulations Renaissance and Central Softball Teams!

At the end of the season only one team in each division can hoist the trophy, and those teams were Renaissance and Western. The championship game was Wednesday, May 11. DIVISION ONE Renaissance played Western at the University of Detroit Mercy Field and won 10 to 6. DIVISION TWO Central played Denby at the University of Detroit Mercy Field and won convincingly 24 to 4.

Softball Championship Game

Congratulations to all the schools that have made it this far. The Championship games will be held at the University of Detroit Mercy Softball Field on Wednesday, May 11. DIVISION ONE Renaissance will play Western at 3:00 p.m. DIVISION TWO Central will play Denby at 12:30 p.m.
