Today, Wednesday, May 30, 2018, all schools will dismiss three hours earlier than their normal scheduled release time due to anticipated high temperatures developing in the afternoon. Schools participating in field trips will be rescheduled.
Dear families: Today, Tuesday, May 29, 2018, all schools will dismiss three (3) hours earlier than the normal dismissal time. The early dismissal is due to high temperatures developing into the afternoon. If your school has a scheduled field trip, buses will return at their normal time and students will be transported to their corner stop or home as normally scheduled.
Cass and Carstens are closed Tuesday, May 29 due to building problems.
Brewer Academy is closed today, May 9, due to a power outage. DTE has been notified.
Communication and Media Arts High School, Duke Ellington, Hutchinson and Southeastern are closed today, May 7 due to partial power outages at those buildings.
Dear Cass Tech Families and Staff, As you should know, we informed you yesterday evening through a robocall that school was open today. That information was accurate. Unfortunately, the city’s three major TV stations reported, without confirmation, that the school would be closed. We immediately contacted the media to retract the misinformation. Although there appear to be continuing complaints of an odor, the District performed a quality air test and the building was cleared for use. Due to the TV stations’ error, all student and teacher absences will be waived for today, Wednesday, May 2, 2018.
Families, Students, and Staff: Today, Wednesday, May 2 several news outlets falsely reported that Cass Technical High School was closed through their automated school closure system. Cass Tech is open today and all classes will follow the normal schedule. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.

Parent and Guardians, Please be advised that most schools have had their power restored over the course of the day. However, some remain without power. As of this update, most schools will be open tomorrow but a limited number may be closed. We will inform you and the media of any closure prior to 5 a.m.
