Mumford students take the stand at mock trial

Over the past three months, two Mumford Academy civics classes have been exploring the intricacies and inequalities of the American justice system through a semester-long mock trial exercise, culminating in a final trial held in the “Million Dollar Courtroom” and moderated by the renowned Judge Denise Hood.  Along the way, the students have worked with prosecutors, defense attorneys, judges, and police officers to explore the system from the inside out to get a complete and authentic view of how our justice system works.
