Service day brings together students and…puppets?

Bagley Elementary School of Journalism & Technology partnered with Greenhills Middle School in Ann Arbor earlier this month for a day of fun and learning.  More than 70 eighth grade Greenhills Middle School students and teachers worked with Bagley students and staff to participate in a service day with the Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade classes.

The students engaged in a literacy exercise, where Greenhills students read books to Bagley students and then helped them craft puppets to accompany the stories. They integrated several literacy standards in the activity. As a conclusion to the activity, the students performed their stories with puppets for one another.  Thank you Greenhills Middle School for donating books and supplies for the classroom libraries!
