Learn & Play Day for attendance all-stars on November 7

Students who earned one or more “Every School Day Counts” wristbands for perfect attendance can now use those wristbands for free or reduced admission and activities on Tuesday, November 7. Students must bring at least one wristband to receive free/reduced admission for themselves and their family. See below for participating organizations:

  • Charles Wright Museum of African American History
    • Guided gallery of tours of “Detroit ‘67” and drop-in art activity (11 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
  • City of Detroit Recreation Centers
    • Special activities planned for students
  • Detroit Historical Museum
    • Free guided tours of “Detroit ‘67” and activity sessions
  • Detroit Institute of Arts
    • Free admission to “Church: A Painter’s Pilgrimage” and “Monet Framing Life,” plus free drawing in the Galleries. DIA will provide drawing materials and guided artistic assistance
  • Detroit Public Library
    • Various sites will offer movies, puzzles, games and computer access
  • Michigan Science Center
    • Free general admission and access to the premium traveling exhibition “1001 Inventions: Untold Stories from a “Golden Age of Innovation.”
  • ***Saturday, November 18: DNR Outdoor Adventure Center
    • Half-off admission
