Ben Carson class of 2020 receives white coats

Benjamin Carson High School of Science and Medicine students performed their 2017 White Coat Ceremony to welcome 10th graders to the medical field. The student-led ceremony, traditionally conducted at U.S. medical schools, is a “rite of passage” designed to celebrate the students’ advancement of their studies in medicine.

“This was a great opportunity for students to visualize themselves as professionals in medical fields” says Shannon Waite, teacher at Ben Carson. “The students were coated by doctors and that will encourage them to grow throughout their high school career.”
