Miss Michigan engages students in STEAM education

Miss Michigan Heather Kendrick spent the day at Charles H. Wright Academy of Arts and Science. Miss Kendrick, whose platform issue is “Keeping Arts in Education: Advocating STEAM,” played “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” on the violin as students painted rainbows in their art class.

First grade student Jamari Minor was excited to say, “violins can play all types of music. Miss Michigan even played a Lady Gaga song!”

Thank you, Miss Kendrick for teaching our students about the importance of STEAM education.
