Detroit Public Schools Community District will host a Back-to-School Expo Saturday, August 26 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Wayne County Family Aquatic Center with the theme: We’re saving a seat for your child. The expo will be an opportunity for families to enroll new students, celebrate teachers and build excitement for the 2017-2018 school year.

DPSCD staff will be on hand to enroll students before the new school year begins September 5, 2017 and answer questions about DSPCD schools and academic programs. DPSCD partners will also be in attendance to share information, host fun activities and provide giveaways. In addition to enrollment activities, the Expo will include an ongoing program featuring DPSCD student/staff talent showcases, water park activities and prize giveaways. Prizes will be given away every 15 minutes, starting at 11 a.m. Expo attendees will be eligible for free admission to the Wayne County Family Aquatic Center.

Teachers are invited to visit the Teacher Appreciation tent at 1 p.m. to pick up their Mike Morse Teacher Tote filled with school supplies. Dr. Vitti and Board members will greet teachers during the event.
