King Students Take Journalism Skills to the Next Level

Senior, Carrimia Owens (left), and junior, Alana Burke (right), will take their high school journalism experience to the next level. Carrimia received a scholarship to attend Wayne State University’s Journalism Institute for Media Diversity this fall. Alana completed a three-phase application process and has been accepted to the Princeton University Journalism Program this summer. She is one of 40 students accepted out of 350 who applied nationally. All tuition, transportation, rooming, and food costs will be paid for by the program. Both young ladies are the editors for the school’s newspaper, Crusaders’ Chronicle. Keep up the great work, ladies!
