Renaissance students play at the prestigious Carnegie Hall

Mr. Ronald Malabed is the band director at Renaissance High School. He submitted an audition tape to participate in Carnegie Hall’s National Band and Orchestra Festival that took place on Saturday, April 15. He and the 50 member symphonic band participated in the prestigious event and he said the band performed very well. Malabed said the students were ecstatic and excited. They had been practicing since Nov. 2016.

Only the best have been asked to perform on the stage through audition and it is such an honor. He thanks the UAW Ford for funding a large part of the trip. Students also attended the Broadway show, Phantom of the Opera, visited the 911 Memorial, Times Square, Central Park, and the Statue of Liberty.
