Join us for the World Languages Parent Workshop at FLICS

In an effort to promote World Languages in our district and raise awareness of the positive impact that learning foreign languages has on future success, the Office of World Languages is working with district departments and the Foreign Language Immersion & Cultural Studies School (FLICS) educational community to offer a DPSCD Parent Foreign Language Workshop on Thursday, April 13 at 6 p.m. at FLICS.
We invited Melissa Dalton, 2016 Michigan Teacher of the Year, and 2017 Central States Teacher of the Year, to assist us with this event. We are certain this will be a great workshop for all the attendees. Below please review the topics that will be discussed with the parents:
a. The importance of children developing language proficiency early.
b. How to identify effective, engaging language education for children.
c. Why FLICS children develop language proficiency over time.
d. The requirements for the DPSCD’s  Seal of Biliteracy Award.
e. Questions and answers.
All community members are welcome including current and prospective families!
