Detroit Public Schools Community District Extends Hours for STEAMy Summer Event at the Wayne County Aquatic Center

Summer Back-to-School Enrollment Initiative Centered on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math)

Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) will hold its fourth STEAMy Summer family event at the Wayne County Family Aquatic Center on Saturday, August 20, 2016, including extended hours! The event will offer hands-on S.T.E.A.M. activities with a special computer coding course which will engage both students and parents.

This event includes a free entry for DPSCD families on a first come first served basis, at the Wayne County Family Aquatic Center. A limited supply of free school supplies will be distributed at the event. Southwest Solutions and the Detroit Police Department will also be on site.

In addition, a number of DPSCD schools will be at the Center with enrollment information, including:

  • East English Village Preparatory Academy
  • Wayne Elementary School
  • Hutchinson Elementary-Middle School
