Two Detroit Public Schools Community District instructors took part in a Materials Science workshop sponsored by ASM (American Society for Metals) International and the University of Michigan, July 18-22. Wanda Bryant and James Skorna spent the week learning about metals, ceramics, glass, plastics and composites. They also participated in laboratory experiments and demonstrations surrounding those topics. With their newly gained knowledge they hope to return to their classrooms and involve students in the growing world of Materials Science.
A special ‘thanks’ goes out to the Detroit chapter of ASM International for their continuing support of educational programs throughout the region.
