MacDowell Preparatory Academy was formerly known as and International Preparatory Academy – MacDowell Campus. In addition to a new name, the academy has new management, effective July 1, 2016. The school is now managed by American Promise Schools, a non-profit management company that operates three other schools in Detroit.
