ACCESS Clean-Up at Cody-DIT

Hundreds of volunteers came out and braved the weather to clean up the area around Cody High School on Saturday, May 14. Materials sponsored by Lowe’s and Home Depot, helped the volunteers, including students, celebrate the 12th Annual Arab American Youth Service Day by cleaning up the grounds around the school and neighborhood park.

Volunteers from the Greening of Detroit also pitched in to assist with planting flowers, and other landscaping projects to beautify the exterior of the school. Principal of Cody-DIT, Ms. Latoya Hall-King, and staff members were on hand to welcome the sponsors, which included ACCESS and DTE Energy, with their volunteer efforts.
