Renaissance High School DECA students participated in the Michigan DECA Career Development Conference March 11-13, 2016, held at Cobo Hall. Congratulations to all of the members as 71% of the RHS chapter advanced to state competition.
Recognized Renaissance DECA members included:
- Sports Entertainment Marketing event congratulations goes to senior Andrei Nichols who scored perfectly for his role play judged events earning two medals.
- Leadership and Teamwork event, a special congratulations goes out to juniors Catera Chamers, Jordan Robinson, and Jasmine Jordan as they secured state champion designations. All three earned judged event and overall score medals, and state championship plaques.
- Junior, Autumn Chamber and Catera Chambers were also selected to attend the Elevate Leadership Academy during the DECA International Conferences.
- Joshua May was nominated by a delegation of over 3,000 DECA students from across the state to become one of eight 2016-2017 MI DECA Executive State Council Members. As he has been chosen by his peers to hold this very prestigious position, we wish him well on his new endeavors as he moves to lead and have influence over the largest career tech student organization in Michigan, DECA!The students mentioned have secured their places at the DECA International Career Conference to be held April 22-27 in Nashville, TN.
