Detroit Public Schools showcased four of its Career and Technical Education (CTE) Centers on Friday, March 11, during a legislative lunch at Breithaupt Career and Technical Center. The event showcased a variety of CTE programs at DPS high schools, specializing in curriculum ranging from aerodynamics to emergency medical technician course work.
Students who participate in the District’s CTE programs are learning skills to prepare them for workforce entry and college readiness. In many instances, students have the opportunity to advance into the examination phase of their desired industry and begin working upon completion of those requirements.
Dozens of state appointed officials attended the event to learn more about DPS’ career and college readiness opportunities and meet the students who will soon be joining the local workforce!
