Program held in preparation for National Sleep Awareness Week March 6-12
Local nonprofit organization, Sweet Dreamzzz, Inc., hosted a R.E.M. (Rest. Educate. Motivate.) Sleep Education Program at Dixon Educational Learning Academy on Tuesday, February 22.
Dixon’s 325 K-5 students learned why getting a good night’s sleep is essential for their success in school and how creating good, lifelong sleep habits will positively impact their health and well-being. Sweet Dreamzzz Sleep Educators teach children how to create a proper bedtime routine and go over the number of hours of sleep they need to get every night.
Additionally, each child will receive a sleep kit containing a sleeping bag or fleece blanket, a Sweet Dreamzzz night shirt, toothbrush and toothpaste and a reading book. Reverie, a sleep systems manufacturer out of Bloomfield Hills, hosted a “Showing the LOVE for Dixon Academy” event and dedicated a day at the office to pack all the sleep kits for the students.
