Detroit Public Schools students participated in the Michigan History Day State Finals on April 25, 2015 at Dewitt High School in Dewitt, MI. Students from Cass, Douglass, Durfee, King and Thirkell entered in individual and group entries in three categories: documentary, exhibits and a performance.
The Office of Social Studies is proud to announce that the following students from Frederick Douglass Academy for Young Men have advanced to the National History Day Competition being held at the University of Maryland, College Park, MD June 14-18, 2015. Under the leadership of Mr. Quan Neloms and Ms. Katherine Temple, of Frederick Douglass Academy, there were three (3) national finalists in the Senior Group Documentary. One other group is a National alternate.
