Renaissance named DECA State Champions

Renaissance High School Marketing and Business Management students competed in the DECA State Career Development Conference in Grand Rapids, March 13-15. Students competed in either a role play or written event in the areas of leadership, sports entertainment, entrepreneurship, fashion, business, retail merchandising and human resource management.

Seniors Makayla Heard, Brandi Hess and Arrion Drumgoole achieved “Overall State Finalist” for their Fashion Promotion Plan and earned the designation of “State Champions.” Heard, Hess and Drumgoole will go to Florida where they will compete in the DECA International Career Development Conference April 24-29. Sophomore, Joshua May earned a spot at the International Career Development Conference as well. He will represent Michigan DECA during the “Elevate Emerging Leadership Academy.”

As a chapter, RHS DECA was recognized on stage for its participation in the DECA national community service campaign and was recognized for its increased membership efforts, growing the chapter by five students and/or professional partners thus earning a “Gimmee 5” Award.
