Two DPS elementary schools to receive exotic insects for science curriculum

In an effort to interest students about the science of entomology, professionals from Rose Pest Solutions, located in Troy, will deliver Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches and present care instructions to two Detroit Public Schools February 26 and 27.

Thirkell Elementary-Middle School and Edison Elementary School will receive small quantities of the cockroaches distributed in square glass bug habitats along with educational pamphlets about the insects’ characteristics and behaviors. The insects and glass bug habitats are free of charge.
