Cass Tech senior guard K’lynn Willis named PSL Proud Strong Learner of the Week

Cass Tech 5-4 senior point guard K’lynn Willis is finishing her high school career with a strong performance on the court and in the classroom and has been named Detroit Public School League Proud Strong Learner of the Week.

Cass Tech 56, Ford 47 girls 655Willis has maintained a 3.75 grade point average since her freshman year. She’s also averaging 15 points, eight assists and six steals a game, including 17 points and nine assists last week in a victory against East English Village. She will enroll at Hampton University next fall on a full athletic scholarship.

“She’s not only the captain of our team, but she is the floor general that her teammates look to for direction,’’ Lady Technicians coach Marissa Fisher said.

The Detroit Public School League Proud Strong Learner of the Week award is representative of the league’s top boys’ and girls’ athletes. The award is presented by the DPS Office of Athletics and is sponsored by Detroit-area McDonald’s owner-operators.
