Jennifer Edwards selected as 2014 “Michigan Project Learning Tree Educator of the Year”

Congratulations to Jennifer Edwards, teacher at Ronald Brown Academy, for being selected as the 2014 “Michigan Project Learning Tree Educator of the Year!” Edwards will receive a commemorative plaque, additional prizes and an all-expenses paid trip to the International Project Learning Tree Coordinators’ Conference held in Saratoga Springs, New York June 8-11, 2015. She will also be in the running to win one of five national awards.

According to Project Learning Tree, the program is an award-winning environmental education initiative designed for teachers and other educators, parents and community leaders working with youth from preschool through grade 12.

The PLT Steering Committee was very impressed with Edwards’ accomplishments in outdoor and environmental education in Michigan, according to Ada Takacs Volunteer Coordinator for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources-Forest Resources Division.
