GOAL Detroit Soccer Championship

The Goal Detroit Soccer Championship took place on Saturday, November 1 where two Detroit Public Schools’ teams took home the win. Earhart Elementary-Middle School’s 3rd and 4th grade team and Munger Elementary-Middle School’s 5th grade team both took first place in their divisions and are now the Goal Detroit Champions.

DPS’ K-8 Sports League kicked off its fall season on Monday, September 22 with six athletic programs. The 2014 fall sports lineup included the new city-wide “Goal Detroit” elementary soccer league endorsed by Mayor Mike Duggan and Detroit PAL (Police Athletic League). It included 700 students from 44 different teams including more than 20 DPS teams.

Both DPS teams were noted for their excellent sportsmanship at the 2014 Goal Detroit Soccer Championship.
