Students and staff at Carver S.T.E.M. Academy wore purple in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month on Friday, October 10. Karen Lewis from Angel House, a non-profit organization that educates women on ways to overcome domestic violence, visited Carver to share a special presentation about her personal experience with the cause.
Angel House is located in Livonia and was established in 2007 to assist women facing domestic violence situations. Carver S.T.E.M. Academy showed their support by wearing the color purple during Ms. Lewis’ presentation.
