Sherrell Hobbs, principal at Golightly Education Center, participated in the BOOK IT! National Young Readers Week Principal Challenge on Tuesday, November 11. National Young Readers Week is an annual event co-founded by Pizza Hut and the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress.
According to BOOK IT!, a program that motivates children to read by rewarding their reading accomplishments with praise, recognition and pizza, principals are challenged to commit one entire school day to reading, one day during National Young Readers Week. All principals who complete the challenge can send in photos of their day to enter for a chance to win copies of Author Jeff Kinney’s, “The Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul,” for their school.
