Hundreds of students receive free coats, hats, gloves and scarves
The family of long-time Gompers Elementary-Middle School community partner Marilyn Marshall held a coat donation on Wednesday, November 5 in her honor. Marshall, who passed away May 28, 2013, annually donated coats, matching hats, gloves and scarves to students in need at the school.
Marshall donated over 100 coats per year to students for the last three years. Before her passing, she had already begun collecting garments for this year’s donation to Gompers students. Her daughters Nancy Marshall, Phyllis Dykstra, Kerry Lapointe, Marjorie Marshall and granddaughter Meghan Zoll will carry on the Marshall legacy by continuing the annual donation.
