PSL football semifinals to determine who gets to play at Ford Field

This weekend begins the final stretch of another exciting season of Detroit Public School League football.

The 2014 league semifinals are Friday at DCP-Northwestern High School, featuring defending champion Cass Tech (6-0 league, 7-0 overall) against East English Village (5-1, 5-2) at 5 p.m., followed by No. 1-seed King (6-0, 7-0) against Renaissance (5-1, 5-2) at 7 p.m.

The winners advance to the PSL Championship Game at Ford Field, Friday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.

On Saturday at DCP-Northwestern High, the consolation semifinals will feature Mumford (4-2, 4-3) against Denby (3-3, 4-3) at 12 noon and Cody (4-2, 4-3) against DCP-Northwestern (3-3, 4-3) at 2 p.m.

The winners advance to the PSL Consolation Game at Ford Field, Friday, Oct. 24 at 4 p.m.

Admission to the semifinals is $5. Admission to the PSL finals doubleheader at Ford Field is $10 and tickets can be purchased in advance at any of the 16 PSL football participating  schools or the day of the game at the Ford Field box office.
