Six students win merit scholarships to attend University Liggett School for 4 years

Six of metro Detroit’s brightest eighth-graders were named Liggett Merit Scholars, earning full and half-tuition scholarships to the University of Liggett School for four years.

The highly competitive scholarship, based on academic achievement and other criteria, draws applicants from throughout the region. This year, 130 students applied. Desmon Darby, who attends Schulze Academy, is the 2014 Liggett Merit Scholarship Recipient.
