PSL boys’ basketball postponed Tuesday and rescheduled for Wednesday; JV finals set for Thursday between Cass Tech, King

Today’s (Tuesday, Jan. 28) Detroit Public School League varsity boys’ basketball games have been postponed due to the cold weather and rescheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday, Jan. 29).

Those games each tip at 4 p.m. and include: Pershing at Douglass; King at East English Village; Southeastern at Cass Tech; Western at Ford; Renaissance at Cody; Osborn at Central; Davis at DCP-Northwestern; Mumford at Denby; and West Side at CMA.

2014 Big D varsity girls’ basketball tournament bracket

The Big D girls’ tournament for the 2013-14 PSL championship is also slated to begin Wednesday with a 5:30 p.m. play-in game between West Side and host CMA.

The PSL junior varsity basketball championships Thursday at East English Village will feature Cass Tech against King in the girls’ and boys’ title  games, set for 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., respectively. Admission is $3.

In JV action Monday, Cass Tech defeated Denby 61-51 and King beat CMA 52-27 in the boys’ semifinals at King High, and Cass Tech advanced by 1-0 forfeit against Denby and King beat Mumford 43-19 in the girls’ semifinals at East English Village.
