Students from Clippert Academy, Western International High School, and Earhart Elementary-Middle School attended the Science Road Show presented by the University of Michigan on Saturday, December 7. The Science Road Show was held at the Ford Resource and Engagement Center in Southwest Detroit.
At the Science Road Show, 36 students learned about simple machines and then used their knowledge to complete a project. The scenario was that the students were on a field trip and the road to the trip was blocked by a fallen tree. Each group of students was given a set of supplies to use for building and was offered the opportunity to purchase more supplies for points, which would be deducted from their final score. The team with the highest score was awarded a prize. The students worked very hard and enjoyed their experience at the Road Show.
The University of Michigan is planning to do another Road Show in February.
