Mark Twain celebrates the influential life of Nelson Mandela

The great Civil Rights leader, Nelson Mandela, was celebrated through a heartfelt speech during Mark Twain School for Literary Scholars’ daily announcements, on Monday, December 9.

Eighth grade student Jamya Richardson, along with her second grade announcers, spoke about Mandela and his contributions to South Africa and the world.

The morning announcement, which usually consists of the pledge of allegiance, word of the week and grammar skill of the week, featured a special story on the great Civil Rights leader.
