DPS to hold SIX major warehouse auctions of surplus kitchen equipment, metal shop equipment, vehicles, automotive engines and other obsolete supplies

On Wednesday, December 4, Detroit Public Schools will hold a preview of surplus items available to be purchased by the public as part of a major online warehouse auction the following day.

The event is part of a series of weekly auctions that began October 17, and will continue throughout December to sell excess items, such as surplus or obsolete kitchen equipment, outdated metal shop equipment, safes, automotive engines, obsolete pianos, kilns, and more.

The online auction program seeks to minimize handling and warehousing costs as well as provide DPS proceeds from the sale of the contents.

Additional items from the upcoming auctions include surplus and/or obsolete multimedia equipment, athletic equipment, sporting goods, automotive technology, vehicles, furniture, and more! This program is a result of findings by a Purchasing and Logistics Strategic Category Team (SCT) focused on inventory management.   (See auction schedule to follow.)
