Future of PSL football to be showcased in junior varsity semifinals Monday at two sites

Tomorrow’s gridiron stars of the Detroit Public School League will be on display Monday at 4 p.m. when the top four teams in the regular season collide in the 2013 PSL junior varsity football playoffs.

JVfootballIn one semifinal, Denby (4-0-1), the top team from the East Division, faces DCP-Northwestern (4-1), the West Division’s No. 2 seed, at Mumford High School. In the other semifinal, Cass Tech (5-0), the West’s top seed, meets East English Village (4-1), the East’s No. 2 seed, at King High School.

The semifinal winners advance to the PSL junior varsity championship game at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Renaissance High School. Admission to each of the semifinals and the championship game is $3.
