Set your DVR: Tune in to the WDIV Local 4 Morning Show on Sunday, July 14 where Humphrey will highlight Sampson students during his segment!
As part of the Extended School Year, Sampson-Webber Leadership Academy has designed a curriculum focused on weather that includes reading, writing, math, science and social studies.
Kim Newell, an Instructional Specialist at the school, contacted WDIV Local 4 Meteorologist Andrew Humphrey to visit Sampson on Tuesday, July 9, 2013.
Humphrey spent part of the afternoon with students presenting weather information. He asked the students questions about storms, regions in the United States where specific storms occur and weather tools used by meteorologists to predict the weather.
“We were both extremely proud and pleased that our students were very knowledgeable in their responses,” said Newell. “The teachers did a remarkable job teaching the Extended Year curriculum.”
