Pasteur hosts Independence Day Parade & Family Fun Day

Pasteur Elementary School celebrated Independence Day on July 2, 2013 with a Parade & Family Fun Day.

More than 100 students, parents, staff and community members marched in the parade as students showcased hand-made posters celebrating Independence Day.

Pasteur also invited new families to the event for Open Enrollment.

Special invited guest Agnes Van Antwerp, daughter of former Detroit Mayor Eugene Van Antwerp of 1948, attended the event. Agnes Van Antwerp was a teacher at Pasteur more than 30 years ago.

Marcy Feldman, president of the Pasteur Alumni Association, was one of her students.

New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church donated 100 cases of bubbles for the event. Rene Green, a paraprofessional at Pasteur, organized the event.
