Schulze Academy students visited by Renaissance Equestrian Society

On May 14, 2013, the students of Schulze Academy were visited by Renaissance Equestrian Society, where students learned about horse grooming, feeding, and traveling chambers.

Congratulations to students Tiavonni Freeman and Najae Duffy who won an essay writing contest titled, “Being Kind to Animals.”

The two students participated in the Karmanos Cancer Institute 3rd Annual Equestrians’ Dream Trail Ride on Saturday, May 18 at Belle Isle Park. Principal Dr. Brenda Lyons rode in a horse and carriage with the two students.

This is the 3rd Annual Equestrians’ Dream Trail Ride presented by the Renaissance Equestrian Society. This is approximately a 5.5 mile trail ride around the island’s parameter which will allow both horse and rider to have the ultimate experience and “Dream Ride”. The rich history and culture of the largest island park in the United States. A portion of the trail ride proceeds will be donated to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and Renaissance Equestrian Society.
