Drew garden program selected for the Mantis Tiller Award

Congratulations to the Charles Drew Transition Center gardening program on being selected for the 2013 Mantis Tiller Award by the National Gardening Association. Drew’s garden was one of 25 award winners from a group of more than 350 inspiring applicants.

According to Julia Parker-Dickerson, M.Ed, of the NGA (National Gardening Association) Grant Committee, the Charles Drew gardening program was selected because the curriculum illustrated a combination of clearly stated goals, organized planning for the garden, and well-developed plans for incorporating youth into garden programming.
