The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) will host Cass Technical High School for its first ever Student STEM (Science, Math, Engineering and Mathematics) Camp on May 6, 2013. The event is at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center, as a part of the STLE’s 68th Annual Meeting and Exhibition.
At the STEM Camp, students from Cass Tech will have the opportunity to see demonstrations and participate in hands-on experiments focusing on important areas of research within the fields of tribology and lubrication engineering.
- Grease Manufacturing
- Viscosity Classification
- Film/Boundary Lubrication
- Flash Rusting
- Sliding Friction
According to STLE, their goal is to reach high school junior and senior-level students who have an interest in STEM and educate them about future opportunities in the fields of tribology research and lubrication engineering.
STLE is an international, non-prophit professional society dedicated to advancing the science of tribology and best practices in lubrication engineering. The society’s headquarters is in Chicago.
