Cass Tech student wins first-place for the “I Can Make History” contest

Cass Tech ninth-grader Matthew Lewis won first place in the “Kroger I Can Make History Contest” at the high school level for his drawing of Thurgood Marshall.

Lewis won a new computer, software and a carrying bag.

The “Kroger I Can Make History Contest” awards luncheon was held on Saturday, April 13, to reveal the contest winners in celebration of Black History Month.

Participating students had the opportunity to win scholarships and other prizes totaling more than $60,000. Each contest entry was required to represent the contestant’s original work and was judged by an independent organization.
