Carver S.T.E.M. Academy students named finalists for “Detroit Do the Write Thing (DtWT) 2013 Challenge”

Congratulations to Carver S.T.E.M. Academy students N’Dea Rountree and Alu’nte Davis for being chosen as the school’s finalists in the “Detroit Do the Write Thing (DtWT) 2013 Challenge.”

The two students will attend the Detroit DtWT local recognition luncheon on Saturday, May 25, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Dave & Buster’s.

According to DtWT, this initiative challenges middle school students to observe the impact of youth violence on their lives. Students have the opportunity to communicate what they think should be done to change our culture of violence, during classroom discussions and in written form by making personal commitments on specific problems they think need to be fixed.
