Detroit Public Schools is hosting its first-ever Career & Technical Education Recruitment Fair Wednesday, May 1, 2013.

DPS’ outstanding Career and Technical opportunities give high school students the chance to start preparing for college and careers, including programs in culinary arts, computer-aided design, automotive repair, flight training and much more!  The fair will provide an Open Day for high school students to register.

Youthville Detroit, 7375 Woodward Ave.

About Detroit Public Schools Career and Technical Education

Detroit Public Schools’ CTE students learn how core school subjects like math, science, and writing are used in real life.  CTE students are able to participate in hands-on training and gain real-world experience through job shadowing and internships.  Many programs offer the opportunity to earn nationally recognized certifications, which assists students in their chosen pathway of college and/or careers.

DPS offers career and technical education at four schools including: Breithaupt Career and Technical CenterCrockett Career and Technical CenterGolightly Career and Technical Center, and Randolph Career and Technical Center. The district also provides career and technical education at many of its schools.
