DPS students participate in Scripps Spelling Bee Championship

Five talented students represented DPS at the Scripps Spelling Bee Championship Saturday March 2. The event was hosted by the Detroit News at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.

The following schools had students who participated in the competition:
Spain Elementary-Middle School was represented by: Hadja Simakha
Detroit International Academy for Young Women was represented by: Deandrea White
Golightly Education Center was represented by: Antonio Peters
Ronald Brown Academy was represented by: Jacquay Huff-Dixon
Neinas Elementary School was represented by: Jasmin Payne
